I could not agree with you more. It does not matter whether Obama or Gingrich is elected. In either event it will be a disaster for this country.

Those who support Gingrich really need to look at his record. Forget whether he is running for the Republican nomination. Look at those who worked with him in the nineties and how they are almost universally opposed to him. True conservatives like Senator Coburn - who originally were elected to Congress in 1994 - are blunt in saying that they will not support him because he knows how erratic and inconsistent he is in his views. Gingrich is dangerous because he has this almost Napoleonic complex that causes him to want to make a mark on the world stage as a historical figure. It is that characteristic that governs his actions more than any core conservative belief.

His views on illegals are a sop to the Hispanics to try and persuade them that he is capable of being fair to that ethnic group. It is ridiculous to say that an illegal who has been in this country for 25 years should be given some sort of amnesty or permanent residence and that someone who has been here for 20 years or 15 years should not be - the latter may also have established roots and have children and grandchildren and made a contribution. Besides what happens to those who have been here for 15 or 20 years and don't leave but will in another five or ten years be here for 25 years? You will notice that he says nothing about those who have been here less than 25 years as to how they should be dealt with because to say they should be deported would enrage the Hispanic constituency that he is appealing for support if he becomes the nominee.

Gingrich has been on both sides of global warming, individual mandates, cap and trade, he has embraced Pelosi and Sharpton at different points. He is the classic RINO - and add to this his ego and what those who worked with him in the nineties say is his lack of stability and, IMO, it would be a disaster for him to be elected.

Check out this link which expresses very clearly why Gingrich would be as bad as Obama if he is the president.

I wish we would focus on the individual and not whether he is a Republican. What difference does it make if an individual claims to be a Republican and his record is nothing of the sort?
