Kitty update - Lily is getting more curious. Early this morning she was active so I decided to let her out of the library. She disappeared for a time.

Stella knew the cat was out and about and was getting agitated (I have been making her sleep in her crate at night). I got her out and she went into the room, looking all over for Lily with no success. Back into the kitchen and she alerted to an under counter cabinet where I keep casserole dishes and baking trays. Sure enough, kitty had found a quiet dark place to hunker down. I made Stella lie down and be restrained (she was on the short leash, but not prong collar). I then put Stella outdoors.

I decided what I have to do is get Stella calmed down and not so agitated about a cat in the house. She needs to be close to the cat so she can see her, but not in a position to hurt her. So. . . I extracted kitty from the cabinet (I'm not all that fond of cat hair in my baking dishes anyway) and put her in a good sized dog crate that I placed next to Stella's crate. Then Stella went into her crate. They are about 3' apart and able to see and smell each other. I am hoping that several hours of this each day might help to get the dog used to the idea that the cat is not something to be harassed.

We shall see.
