I tend to be a more rock and dirt type myself. Hell, how many people do you know that love to go underground?

I live no more than 15 miles from the beach and I may go there once a year....

However, I do love diving, sailing, stinkpotting....and in an apocalyptic situation, I think the water would be safer than the land until things reached an equilibrium. At least when one's starting point is Los Angeles. Can you imagine what would happen as the 28 million people in the three major population centers start to distribute themselves in the less populated areas? The resources would be stripped very quickly. And that doesn't even take into account how many people would be driven to violence simply for the sake of survival.

At least when you are out on the water you can fish for food and don't have to worry about millions of potential criminals at your back.
