TLM/HES. I'd only compare TLM's p/stated book value to itself over time. I'd not compare bv numbers across companies with no regard to their size (enterprise value).

You mentioned HES. That's another I'm adding to as stock falls. A little more today actually.

Political risk is the big concern I have with all the foreign (non USA) oil companies. or USA companies having substantial assets overseas. Given the Halloween Massacre of Canadian trusts, operations in Canada could be at risk too. Biggest country risk I believe I might see right now is Brazil; I've cut back my PBR position substantially. China -- I won't place money on their domiciled companies. I'm not comfortable with Thailand, although I have a couple of positions there. Indonesia, Peru -- I just don't know. Same with Colombia: I'm going to risk it there though with some good size positions.
