We are partly in agreement. I would like a conservative as president.

Where we part company is that Gingrich is not a conservative. His entire political career is that of a PROGRESSIVE. His latest metamorphosis is one of convenience. He will do and say anything to suit his purpose. Many conservatives who worked with him - and who owe their election to him - acknowledge his creative mind but say that they cannot support him.

Gingrich as president riding rough shod over a Republican majority in the House and Senate and co-opting the RINOs is much more dangerous than Obama as president being blocked in his legislative and policy goals. To some extent this moot because I think the odds are that Obama will win re-election if he is running against Gingrich.

I encourage you and others to examine Gingrich's history. He was a Rockefeller Republican, and then stood for election as progressive candidate on two occasions and lost. It was then that he ran as a conservative and won. He has been supportive of various liberal initiatives over the years. Some may believe that he has changed - I am not one of those.
