I have a lot of poker books (Sklansky, too of course). One by Gus Hanson called Every Hand Revealed where he comments practically every hand to a tournament first place. Of course, he got lucky on all the hands that counted but watching the pots he stole was amazing! He really played a lot of crap but in the right position and circumstances. For instance, playing after Antonius and on the button he goes for the blinds with a 10/3. Unfortunately, the guy (I forget his name) calls but the flop hits ten high and he considers his read, bets aggressive, and pushes the guy off the pot! Sometimes you gotta be lucky to be brave! Guy might have had a weak ace or a small pair--who knows. But guys like Hansen are always able to fold...next hand if they must! A book well worth reading.

"bluffing: if no one has anything and you bet how can they call??"

Right! And if I have nothing and I go over you how can YOU call MY nothing with YOUR nothing?! :-)

YOU CAN'T.

And if you instead shove in a re-raise again with YOUR nothing against MY nothing--then you are a reckless bastard! Take it this time!! We will do it again...I will be waiting with my aces!
