Ann, Ken finally admits defeat by his absence. Hopefully it's not a matter of authentic R.I.P.

I have been my annual check up with my doctors in St. Louis and have missed many of your post. However, after a brief review of the post since I have been gone I can understand why Ken has left the site. All we see is negativism on this site and very few solutions indicated. The overriding tone of the postings are let's just rid of Obama and the economy will correct itself. However, due to globalization the financial picture is not in a good position. We all recognize that the financial started a long time ago, with Carter's "Community Reinvestment Act and carried forward with Greenspan's 100%, balloon home loans, and Clinton's extension of the Reinvestment Act contributing to the overbuilding of houses. Then, we had for multi-wars running up the deficit off budget during the Bush administration. Additionally, we have had an explosion of technology which has eliminated many of the labor intense jobs requiring employees to have high skilled knowledge. IMO, President Ike had it right when he stated that the US should not allow the industrial military complex take control of the budget.

My question to each of you on this site, "If you were the President, or Bernake how would you resolve this dilemma?" Whomever the next President is the correct steps will need to be followed to right the relationship of job position to skill sets, stimulate our economy and pay down the debt.

It is easy to criticize, but solutions are harder to come up with! Maybe Ken was right when he just had enough of the negativism.
