Chevron Asked to Suspend Activity in Brazil
By Peter Millard - Dec 14, 2011 10:56 AM PT

Brazil’s federal prosecutor’s office has asked Chevron Corp. (CVX) to suspend all activity in the country and pay 20 billion reais ($10.7 billion) in damages after an oil spill last month, the prosecutor’s office said in an e-mailed statement.

This was for a very small spill. I wonder what is going to happen if PBR has a real accident, my guess is that they will be 100% owned by the government in that case via nationalization.
