It's a very good fit:
one of the key leading edge applications is double patterning which consists of leading edge deposition and etch technology. Integrating both steps will be a major improvement (because there might be important interaction between etch,dep and clean IMHO) and they can now compete directly with AMAT who also offers etch and dep as well.
