I think you're right. But I had gotten the bios 5 from them before going ahead. Dell said it would improve the process, but that I'd still need disk management software from the maker of the hard drive. They actually said I'd be better off buying two 2 gig drives than I would having a 4 gig drive with a partition, but I didn't take that advice, and it looks like I'll be fine without it.

Something positive I forgot to mention: the Microsoft tech support guy I talked with (very helpful in getting me through the process of reinstalling Windows 95) told me that he had just bought a JTS drive himself a few weeks earlier (because of the great price).
