This whole degradation of our civil liberties has been made all the more harmful BECAUSE the Dems have 'normalized' the behavior. I've said it before and I'll say it again -- I feel Obama has been and remains the most harmful president the left could have ended up with. He has de-fanged the left while at the same time advancing some of the most harmful policies of the right. This detention provision of the NDAA is a perfect example. Here's a segment of a recent speech by Jeremy Scahill where he talks about how Obama neutralized the left. He's a contributor to The Nation and Democracy Now among other outlets. youtube.com
