Well I remain skeptical. We went to war with Iraq, which I supported, but now have my doubts, largely on the basis of our belief that they had weapons of mass destruction, which turned out not to be the case. In the end it looks to me like the Iraq war and Afghanistan will have been for naught. We will leave and things will revert.

One problem in this country, which I fear we will see again, is that the initial fervor for war gives way to the realization that wars are costly and that Americans die and are injured and public support for the war is lost and we don't achieve our objectives. Think this is what is going to happen in Middle East.

"Your assertions seems to be based on the fact that you believe the Iranian jihadis are all completely rational in their thought process. And that somehow their actions would be overt and traceable back to the Iranian government.
"
I think you misstate my position. I don't believe that the Iranian Jihadists are rational, but I think it is a stretch to believe that their desire for nuclear weapons is for the purposes of utilizing them against Israel and USA to fulfill a death wish. I do not believe the leadership of Iran is that crazy. If our government really believes that they should have acted long ago.

I also do not believe that at the moment there is support for another war in the ME.
