Low Fund inflows or negative inflows would tell us something about the mood of people on the the street. A lack of new captial would severely limit any upside in the market.

The problems with long term expectations these days is the the market has a tendency to humble you. Long term expectation tend to cloud your judgement and you won't see the turn in the market when it happens as the turn will not confirm your expectations.

I am not saying that you will be wrong, just that there is the possibility that the market could be flat or higher changes every day. There is a hint that the economy is not a bad as expected for example and the rally in the dollar may be reflecting that. Whether that is a short term flow to saftety from the volatility in Europe or a long term trend only time will tell.
