HELSINKI (Dow Jones)--Finland-based Nokia Corp. (NOK), the world's largest mobile phone maker by volume, has no concrete plans to offer tablet computers any time soon, Chief Executive Stephen Elop said late Sunday.
"Nokia does not have an exact plan, but we are studying the markets carefully. Perhaps we will come [to market] one day," Elop said in a televised interview on Finnish public broadcaster YLE.

In November, French newspaper Les Echos cited Nokia's top official in France, Paul Amsellem, as saying that Nokia plans to have a tablet computer using Microsoft Corp.'s (MSFT) Windows 8 phone software ready by June 2012.

Elop also said Nokia's headquarters will stay in Espoo, Finland.

"There's no doubt about that. As long as I'm chief executive, the main office is in Espoo. Nokia has so much talent here in Finland. Also the key product development units and leaders are here," Elop said.
