Uhh, Blaine, I tried opening up an e-trade account earlier this year after I read all their enticing ads. So I tried calling. And tried calling again. And again. And then I actually talked with one of their employees. That was the only time that ever happened! They promised to send me an account application right away! It never showed up! That convinced me that I should not entrust my life savings with folks that don't pick up the phone or send out timely information to potential new customers. Even if I would have opened up an account with them and experienced a screwed up transaction, that would have been enough to send me running away from them right away. I guess I don't understand why so many people kept doing business with them if they were so inept. The best way to show a business that you are dissatisfied is to speak with your feet and take your business elsewhere. Did you stay with etrade after they screwed up more than once? Why? There are dozens of capable brokers out there that would be glad to have your business. Why did you let them cause you so much harm that now you have to burn up your time, anxiety and money to sue them? That's one of the big problems in this country - the only solution people can think of to solve their grievences is lawsuits. Next time, don't keep doing business with an outfit that is so obviously inept! Its so much easier than having to deal with lawyers and lawsuits.
