Jim;
Thanks a bunch. Sorry I haven't been around for a few days. I found out something. I have 4.5 GB of hard disk, about half of that is normally free. So I haven't been to religious in cleaning out my temporary Internet cache files. Well anyway I ended up with 20+ MB in each cache for a total of a little less than 90 MB. Then I tried to clean up and everything started dong GPFs usually at wininet.dll.

To make a long story short I tried uninstalling and reinstalling anything that could be related. Internet Explorer, WAOL, etc. And the Install program would GPF. I forget what made me get after the Temporary Internet Caches; but when I tried to get to them with Windows Explorer it GPF'd. In DOS I couldn't get to the CACHE1,2,3,4 directories, don't know why???? But I still have a copy of Winfile.exe from the Windows 3.1 version; so I was able to get in with it and delete all that temporary internet garbage. As you can see by the date it took me 5 days to get back on line.

To best of my figuring the total file size got so large that anything that tried to access them would write into a restricted part of memory and result in the Invalid Page Faults I was receiving. Just passing this on for anyone else who hasn't cleaned up their temporay files in a while, or that have been getting wierd GPFs on anything Internet related.

Well I'm proof that even the old can learn.
