Well that is very unkind of you. Certainly, you are not unique in disliking meanness but one wonders on what basis you would level such an accusation against Rand? Moreover, one shudders at what could impel the grossly unfair and vicious charge of sociopathy? After all, the reminisces of people who knew Ayn personally for years invariably remark her humour, her sense of life, her courtesy, her empathy, her solicitous concern for those she respected and loved, and her benevolent and giving nature. Even her enemies (of which she had many) generally admitted to those stellar qualities. I don't count the mudslingers and leftist or christian apologists (who had no direct knowledge of her but merely hated her for her ideas) as enemies, but merely as second handers anxious to score cheap points without regard for whether those points are actually truthful or merely convenient to their prejudices.

Do these people sound like sociopaths? Do you think in their years of knowing Ayn personally and intimately that they did not perhaps earn a more persuasive and justified criticism than your own? Do you believe your second hand "rage" trumps their first hand love and respect? And do you think your unexamined "rage" against someone you knew not at all speaks to an endearing quality of normalcy? Something you might wish to consider...
