a modern version of millenial apocalypse superstition. Count on the scientifically illiterate to fall for the same old scams time and time again.

No question there are a raft of classic fear mongering scams that wrapped with apocalyptical superstition.

Fear of the approaching millennium is hardly new. The only difference this time is that modern society runs on electricity & silicon with bogus software built into it.
