linda, waterhouse is a very good brokerage. i left b/c i wanted instinet and selectnet access. now that most stocks are "phased in" i only need instinet 1-2% of the time and i'll write that off with cheaper commishes at waterhouse.

$12 for limit or market order.
$30 (or close) for auto phone orders.
$45 for live broker orders.

i don't trust some of the cheap brokers during big market days. $8 a trade means nothing if you can't trade - you can lose thousand$$$$$.

let me know if you don't know how to use phased in stocks.
