Do you agree Rayburn would today be a Republican? As Pres Reagan said - that generation didn't leave the Party..the party left them. There's more truth in his statement today than when he said it. Democrat politicians today are very condescending to their voting base - they look down on their constituents and consider them easily manipulated and ignorant. Of course, the fact their constituents continue to vote for the Democrat politicians simply verifies that attitude.
