Mr. A, thread: a little happiness from Readware (actually a whole lot of happiness!):
Subject: ITU/Teledesic/Skybridge

The Int'l Telecom Union reversed its frequency allocation rights to Teledesic today, and has ruled that Teledesic must now share frequency with Alcatel-Loral's Skybridge. I suggested a few weeks ago that Teledesic may have picked the wrong adversary in this battle.

Chalk another one up for Alcatel-Loral.

The LOR Essex House (New York) institutional investor conference went well today, by the way. The Cyberstar presentation was exceptional, and it does look that the SatMex numbers will be appreciably higher than originally forecast for 1999 and beyond. The company is obviously much further along and far more developed and designed than just a year ago, when it held the San Jose conference.

Cheers, Mike Doyle
