Joe, Tell your Catholic doctor friend to read this. It has always been the position of the Catholic church that life begins at conception. Your friend should discuss this with his priest the next time he goes to confession. He should define his position and ask if it is at odds with the teachings of the church.

And, remember he is the sole doctor to the nurses of the convent at one of the St. Louis Suburbans and possibly the Priest in the area. He was only repeating what he felt the majority of doctors conclusions were based on the medical profession.

A friend of my, Catholic, has a brother who is a Priest and a son who is a Priest. During our discussion as how to control poverty and overpopulation stated that he was in agreement that it was okay to tie the tubes of women having to many children along with the men. And they were also Catholic. IMO, when individuals work the symptom of having multiple children to receive revenue (FAFDC) for 5 years, and then giving up the right of the mother to give up their parental rights to their grandmother as a foster parent and receiving foster parents pay, something is wrong.

Sorry, I do not know of any solution. I am sure there has to be some solution. If not, I am in favor in tying the tubes of both the woman and man after a certain number of children and time has been reached when a person is abusing the system. Otherwise, we are headed for overpopulation, without proper skill sets for employment and more less affluent individuals. However, I will consider other points of view if the solution will resolve the problem of overpopulation and the abuse of the system. Financially, the US can not support the abuse of the system.

Solutions, anyone?
