What happened with RIM execs and how they can defend themselves. Repressed people not used to freedom, released all pressure at once.

Travelling to China was opportunity to release pressure. Already dreaming of foot massage, Tsingtao beers and being feted by Chinese partners who usually likes people to feel welcome.

Had a few beers at the airport and stopped counting. When they usually drink, they call cab, go straight home and sleep. This time they were a bit high and had a very long flight ahead of them thus adrenalin continued to run. Perfect storm...

Once the newbies (they had never waited a whole day for a plane in a hot domestic airport in Africa which the only thing we can do to pass the time waiting is to drinking lots of beer) were drunk inside dry and low pressure cabin, alcohol effects were much stronger and the guys did not know it.

Much more than the usual well behaved nice boys were used to handle. This comes handy for their defense.

Their defense must be: We never had drunk too much. Felt a bit excited with the trip and drunk a few more than usual. But we had never had problems since we knew how to handle it. We did not know cabin is much tougher fro drunk people.
