lets see -

write once, test once, run anywhere - Java

for a developer you have to test on windows 3.1, windows 95, windows NT, Windows CE - and since i expect your eagerly awaiting your upgrade to windows 98 - test on windows 98.

applications such as Lotus e-suite component based written in java - windows not required.

Java virtual machines already in most desktops via web browsers.

enterprise vendors such as Oracle embedding Java not only in the client but in THE SERVER.

Network computers.
