That is what he said. He did not write the news letter. Someone else wrote it, but it was a newsletter under his name and where he derived income.

Instead of running away, he has to answer the follow up questions:
1. Was it a newsletter in his name or not?
2. Did he derive income from it
3. Does he share the views expressed in the newsletter?

He will not be able to run away from those questions. If all those questions are untrue, all he has to do is say so.
