I actually think profiling makes a lot of sense. Why give grannies rectal probes when we aren't really threatened by them? Not that I think we should be as limited in our profiling as the xenophobic muslim fearing weenies think we should be- but we kind of know what most terrorists look like. They are relatively young- no matter what color or religion they are, and I'm sure we could stop goosing grannies, or squeezing out their hemorrhoid creams because granny might have some anal explosive in there.

I like government. I don't like Paul because he doesn't like government- and with a society as complex as ours I see his simplistic pablum as crazy. I see a lot of good things happen because of government. There are a lot of people on SI I loathe- and if they are my neighbor, I want government standing between them and me. It seems to me that a lot of jerks who like to do jerky things like small government- because they can get away with being asocial a- holes. Since asocial a-holes are a grand reason to like government, I find that ironic.

I'm not for don't ask don't tell- but if I have to give that up in order to have a democrat/liberal rather than a libertarian (because I loathe liberterrorian) then Bring It On. I know my priorities.
