We go out of our way to keep in touch with friends, but I'm becoming a bit discouraged. There are several who did not return Christmas cards this yr and it seems like that is becoming a trend. I have lost touch with people I went to school with................people I would call my very best friends............because they do not return calls or letters. I can call them on the phone and all is well, and we talk like we've not been out of touch, and like we always have as best friends, but they do not ever call or write and the effort is all mine. I do not understand that, and really should ask, but I accept it and usually just move on.

When I make a friend it is for a lifetime and I cherish them and our friendship. I know that happens to us all, but that doesn't make it any less hurtful.
