A democracy is 100 wolves and 99 sheep voting on the dinner menu. In a Republic the menu is codified in law so that the sheep may remain separate from the pot.

"So forget the labels, all I want to understand is your thinking. Just tell me how you would construct our democracy/republic to fit your ideology?"

That would be a change of topic with premises assumed out of the blue. My comments on democracy were merely to demonstrate what Ayn Rand was talking about when she spoke against it. Her meaning was very clear and her love for the Republic was very clear so she does not deserve to be demonized on that basis. Conflating her views on democracy in the context she delivered them with your personal repub/dem polemics on SI, merely deflects our discussion of why you feel such hostility and rage toward Ayn Rand.

I see no reason to take your quoting of her view on democracy as evidence of her being "mean". I would be happy to consider other "evidence" of her being "mean". I do not know how such evidence would refute her philosophy any more than the Franklin Stove is refuted by Ben's enjoyment of female company but feel free to make the connection for me.
