You never give up, do you?? Impressive. The Republicans on the Hill and a few blue dog Democrats in previous years FOUGHT every liberal effort to regulate in a manner that would have prevented and/or exposed the Worldcoms and the Enrons etc. As well, the story of Arthur Levitt's attempted reforms and the threats to defund his SEC, by Wall Street owned GOP in the House are the real but fogged-out legacy of the collapses. Its amazing in a boom phase how Republicans and some bluedog Democrats take all the credit, and promote cowboy deregulation, but in the bust phase they blame and screech while pocketing the magical tulip dollars they were paid before the crash. <<<Everyone knows Enron gave money to all sides. What's important is they didn't get anything from Bush>>
