Iran threatens to attack shipping through the Strait of Hormuz if the civilized world threatens Iran's ability to export oil. The world consumes about 82.8 million barrels of oil a day. 15 million barrels go through the Strait, 18% of the world's need. Saudi Arabia says not to worry, they will make up the difference. Saudi has 2 million barrels of excess capacity, assuming they can get it to market. Everybody says Iran is bluffing.
