solovina, spanish loosely for 'arrives alone' or 'comes alone'....

a couple of days before we left this young puppy just showed up and ran toward the the dog pack....she was too young to have any fear or comprehension about dog hierarchy....

i couldn't resist her, and picked her up the night before we left and brought her inside with me and she fell asleep on my chest....she was sooo cute....i had to pick her up and drop her over the fence because she was trying to follow us .....we ended up finding her the next trip down (right before the return) and got her all of the necessary shots etc to import her to the u.s., but she just wasn't meant to be....

anyway more happily, the other puppy (garnacha, which is the name of a grape varietal, these are vineyard dogs afterall <g>) was found next to her mommy huddling under an old trailer.....she was really BIG for her age, and once i saw the daddy i knew why.....he looks like a lab/rottweiler mix, extremely husky and big, but the mommie was a medium sized white dog....garnacha has extremely unique markings, including a speckled nose (black and pink)....she's a real attention getter
