A couple of things driving my interest in the focus....
One is the obvious, in the new mining camp meaning spectacular potential exists to find future mining giants as early stage penny stocks now... assuming there will be some among the players who will find "the big one". Gold is where you find it... which still doesn't mean they're all equally capable of finding it. Maybe the best "find" will occur on a property with the least capable management ? The reality in the rocks doesn't change based on what we do in drawing lines on maps... but, I'm not going to think that means I should go looking for the least capable participants to throw money at... ? Creating value in exploration depends on "getting lucky" in having properties with something worth finding on them... but also on a management capability sufficient to fund exploration to find what is there... and focus the effort made well enough to find what is there to find ?
Another is that learning more about the geology in the region from watching all the players efforts... should enable you in picking winners as a benefit gained from having a bigger picture perspective... while it is also true, to some degree, that the camp will tend to rise and fall together... so, odd as that might seem, it will be useful to know what the neighbors have cooking as a thing useful in timing trades.
Less obvious, perhaps...
Recent rules changes in the 43-101 make the focus on a mining camp far more useful than it used to be... because the rules now allow the companies to report what the neighbors are doing as something that is useful to them, too, when and where that is true...
And, in the Abitibi Greenstone region, what they've learned about the geology over the last century... is showing that exactly that is true in spades in this area. There is a pretty solid understanding, now, of the features in the structure and how and why the structure has tended to control distribution of minerals deposition. So, what the guy next door finds in a trend that carries on from his property onto yours... MATTERS...
We're a long way from having the new Shining Tree camp prove itself competitive with Timmins...
Maybe it never will...
But, look at the "data rich" Platinex page I posted a link to... and they're making comparisons already in the basic indicators...
Whether or not "the big one" gets found... there is definitely gold being found in Shining Tree already... and I think the focus on the region is likely to be useful to investors in figuring out how best to make money investing in gold exploration in the region... |
