I have to be honest...this makes no sense to me...if I am traveling further than the electric range of my vehicle I probably won't want to spend however many hours it would take to recharge it along the route...I dont' get the utility of this.

For an example on the Volt, they have the Level 3 chargers so it takes less than 30 minutes to recharge. I don't know what Prius and the hybrids have for chargers.........it could take longer for them. Not the same as a gas station where it takes 10 minutes at most but a step in that direction. Electric and hybrid are still inconvenient to a point but these charging stations are an attempt to rectify some of the gap between gas and electric. I suspect people here are more committed to the concept than they may be in other parts of the country.
