tonto, I as other CEOs, must be fiscally responsible and make decisions which ensure that the company remains a viable ongoing enterprise. I must protect it. My decisionsare based on that premise. That is why the companies employ me.

I take it that you are at issue to the statement of John Chambers, CSCO, and others that the purpose of CEO's are to maximizing the profits for the stockholders. As a past professor of MBA's I suggest that you restudy your financial management and accounting classes. Or, perhaps you are more concerned with the employees than the stockholders. Employees are naturally taken into consideration, as well as the consumers in marketing their product. A fool would suggest otherwise. Management is what make the difference and how they manage their employees in an effort to motivate them to produce quality work at the lease expensive cost in an effort to maximize these profits.
