Too bad we all couldn't have met them, RDW! They both sound like they were wonderful people, and folks from whom we could have learned a good deal! Two of my Grandparents were that way, although they were both born in America. This GrandDad's Grandfather was born in Germany, came here at least by 1843, and Loved This Country all of his life! He LOVED the land, and over the decades, learned how to accumulate a good bit of Western land, and improved it his entire life. I'd love to have known them as well.
