Some time back, we wondered when the wireless guys would tout the faster propagation velocity of "the wireless ether" compared to fiber or coax, for HFT applications.

Even the coax guys could make a similar claim compared to fiber.

Of course, there are many other sources of delay in the end to end signal path, and they don't make any numeric claims in the article.

As a rule of thumb, wireless is about 99% of the speed of light in vacuum, coax ranges in the mid-to-high-80-percent area, and fiber ranges in the mid-to-high 60% area.
