ah, land ownership meant everything to Europeans, for few owned the land

they told me many stories of the 'old county' - how they made their bricks with mud and straw, worked the vineyards, village life

it's funny, when I was young I thought they were out of step with the times - saying, Grams that's old country stuff, it's different in now in America - as I've aged, they were right about so many things, most things
