There is always an element of luck in a contest of this type. However, you can go back and peruse the previous contests and you will see that there are plenty of participants who consistently do well. These "experts" (your term, not theirs) know exactly what they are doing. They will say they got lucky, but don't believe that for a second. There are any number of participants who are always in the running (unfortunately for my charity, I am not one of them!), and we actually have a three-time winner (not much luck involved with that).
