my poppa was a first generation immigrant.....germany....WWII vet (contemplate THAT) he didn't make it west, but bought a fair amount of land in the midwest....developed a nursery....where i got my love of all things green....he loved it here and unashamedly had a huge flag pole in the front yard to fly the flag for july 4th, memorial day, veterans day, etc.....some day i want to get back to the fatherland and see if there are any remaining relatives (he was an only child)....did you know you can get euro citizenship if your parents or grandparents emigrated from there??
