Excellent post. Agreed the federal government must start shrinking - it's humungous size is a major drag on the national economy. And YES as well to your point about Social Security. It's wrong-headed and a waste of time to have any discussion about eliminating the program. Every American at some point has benefitted from an elderly family member who is not totally dependent on other family members for their financial support. Has Romney mentioned plans to downsize the federal government? IMO that would be a major vote winner.
