I am mystified by a couple of points either I or DOJ are missing here:
1. If MSFT and NSCP are giving the browers away free, where are the bucks needed for restraint of trade?
2. When one buys a new computer (and HD) it's loaded with software garbage; someone trying to sell"freeware", etc. One generally uses what one wants, trashing the rest away. Who has said Navigator cannot be included in the mfg's package... May the best (as it usually does) survive under this type of marketing.
3. If we are talking about monopolies - or conspiring to control markets - doesn't the resent meeting of MSFTs compeditors to arrive at a stratgy reek of what MSF is being accused of?
And lastly, as a Puget Sound resident, it is sad over the years to watch the politicalization of Bill Gates and MSFT. In my Plato's Republic I would certainly take Mr. Gates as a resident over the politicos and lawyers pursuing all this.
