Context in a conversation is important. If you are talking about wealth that can be transferred to others, it is something that money can buy. I have chosen a career in the past seven years that allows me to spend a ridiculous amount of time coaching baseball, being a commissioner of the league, shuttling my kid around to bowling tournaments and being the team parent for his wrestling team. I have six more years to accumulate this kind of wealth...if I am lucky. In the 90s, before my son was born, I worked at Cisco Systems and made great money. I make much less nowadays, by choice. Talking about the kind of wealth that isn't transferable to others makes no sense. Nobody else can appreciate the value I get from my experience raising my son.
