There aren't even any plausible mechanisms. Wild ass make believe guesses aren't plausible mechanisms. The whole RNA world is like the multiverse ... entirely theoretical. Except with the multiverse, you can explain why we can't see the other make believe universes. But about the RNA world, we can say if there ever was an RNA world, there would still be an RNA world. Where is it?
