Krugman is another apologist for fiscal irresponsibility.

The bottom line is that many of his points are true, but he misses the larger point. There is NEVER a free ride. Our growth in borrowing has far exceeded our growth in GDP and in our tax base. In addition, there is always payback for this irresponsibility. Whether we pay it back or we inflate it away, it will still feel like austerity to the populace. Either we balance the budget and the people feel it through fewer government services and higher taxes, or we inflate it away and the people feel it through higher prices on EVERYTHING.

Bottom line is the Krugman lives in Fantasy Land where we can spend unlimited dollars on everything we want and we never have to feel the pain.
