I agree with you that U.S. money played an important role in the demise of Mubarek and Gaddafi, but the point that I was making is that, for whatever reason, the Muslims managed to rise up and take over their governments. Such acts are literally unthinkable and unspeakable in Western countries.

See, whereas the Muslims took firm action, Western Whites are terrified to even consider doing something like that, much less actually discussing it as a hypothetical point. As a Western White, that fact is alarming to me. From my perspective, we are more afraid of our government than Muslims are of theirs.

I suppose the closest imaginable analogy would be if Russia and China began actively bankrolling and militarily supporting an overthrow of a Western government. I could easily see a situation like Red Dawn unfolding, given the right set of circumstances in the wake of a financial collapse.
