With the expected dropping out of Bachman and Perry, the battle lines within the Republican are being clearly drawn as between the evangelical right and the establishment Republicans. I see the Tea Party folding into the evangelical right. In years past, the evangelical right confined their message to social issues such as right to life etc. etc. But this time around, having listened to Santorum last night, I came away with the feeling that in addition to their previous message, this time around their message is also seeped with a benign message of racism. Or else why would Santorum talk about "distribution of wealth", "food stamps", "welfare", "Govt.", etc. Wasn't the Govt. always there all these years and why was there no talk of Govt. then. Is it because now we have a African American President, someone from a race which has been the recipient of a significant amount of Govt. aid.

Shocking that it is OK to send aid overseas to countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan and Israel. But not to Americans. And what is equally shocking is that there are some who are concerned with the President signing a bill on military detention our freedoms away but no one expresses anything about taking US taxpayer money and giving it away to foreigners.
