I know where you live Neeka, and I really don't think that the Republicans that exist west of the Cascades are different in any significant way from Mitt Romney.

Are you this hostile to Dave Reichart and Rob McKenna?? As I’m sure they are not the hard right Republicans that you are insisting upon.

The key here is to win the race in the fall of 2012 and take the Senate. Romney will be just fine, provide he isn't destroyed by Newt and the rest of the Tea Party types in the primaries.

I can guarantee you that if the Republicans nominate any of the other contenders besides Mitt Romney we will lose in November.

As far as shrinking government I think that this is a fait acompli as event in Europe are showing us that it will happen there as well. It won't be pretty; government will shrink and we will likely have something like another Great Depression but this is what the future holds almost certainly.
