Defend???? That's the wrong term..you really mean would I want him executed.... Anyone that's human and has a loved one murdered understandably would rip the guts out of the murderer.....but in civilized society we take that responsibility away from the immediate family. You remember the Hatfield's and McCoy's........?

And to answer your question, no I would not want him put to death. I feel life in prison without parole is a greater punishment and most people now feel that way... I had a friend (since moved) whose high school son was "captured" by a high school teacher behind his house one night and taken into the guys basement , tied to a support beam, sexually mutilated and cannibalized....... His father has never wanted him executed and until very recently traveled back to NY every time the guy comes up for "release from the mental institution" in which he's being held....
