I wonder why would a god make man in his image and then ask the men of his chosen tribe to cut off part of their dicks.

Also why would the same god select Israel as the chosen tribe's promised land when it was already occupied by people that had to be killed or enslaved. At that time (around 3000 years ago) Tahiti, Hawaii, and most of Polynesia was uninhabited. Hebrews could have migrated south along east coast of Africa, built sailing arks, head east. Wouldn't take 40 years to get to Polynesia.
