Steatopygia is a genetic trait which has almost nothing to do with the explosion of obesity in the United States.

Obviously, you could attribute some disease/obesity statistics to demographic patterns inasmuch as genetic variation does impact these things but obesity is a modern problem in many countries regardless of the presence of Bushmen or close relatives of Bushmen. Most Afro-Americans are neither pygmies nor bushmen. You knew this, surely???
